What?! It’s called a burglary, so is the only thing the thief stole the guy’s last shred of dignity, or did the newspaper do that?

Why is this tagged with “Scarlett Johansson”?

An unauthorized contest for an unauthorized biography

Tacker has previously expressed interest in writing an unauthorized biography of Billy Joel.  I really want this to happen, and if it does happen the book needs an awesome title.  Here is what Kelsey and I have come up with so far:

    The Joel Nine Yards

    Joel in One

    Like a Joel-ing Stone

    The Joel Enchilada

    Joely Moley

Does anybody have anything to add to the list?

I very much like “The Joel Nine Yards”. I also like “All About Joel” (a pun on his 1993 hit “All About Soul”), but I’m worried the more casual fans might not get the reference.

By the way, in case you haven’t read his Wikipedia page recently, Billy just decided against releasing his autobiography. If HarperCollins was going to pay $3 million for “The Book of Joel: A Memoir” written by a high school dropout, they’ll be begging to publish “The Joel Nine Yards” written by a master.

Tacker, I must admit to being one of those casual fans, but I like where your head is at.

    Andrew W.K. or Charles Manson?

Post your answers in the comments.  Winner gets a Schlitz.  No cheating…

    1. “Where the infinite consciousness within all living things cry sometimes you can just hang there and fly.”

    2. “We all will get what we want. Because all that we want is to try and get what we want. Regain the main core of our blood. Please get it going. The hearts of blood beat on our side.”

    3. “This is not a revival. This is not a return to the past. This is not a tribute to what has come before. This is not anything. THIS IS EVERYTHING.”

    4. “It is my hope and dream to hook up through the satellites with everyone that’s in the Family.”

    5. “Look into vast timeless lasting forever or as long as we can hold the moment.”

    6. “I can read all the stuff that I have written, and the brain still breaks.”

    7. “What we worked so hard to build together can be preserved as a memorial to our times, even if we aren’t building them anymore. We can look after and tend to what we had. It is present and current. It does not need to be destroyed or forgotten.”

      Andrew W. K.: 1, 3, 5, 6,
      C. Manson: 2, 4, 7

      Andrew WK: 3, 4, 5, 6
      Charles Manson: 1, 2, 7

Or is this like one of those trick questions, where ALL of them are Andrew WK? 🙂

Do we only find out when we guess correct??

        • kevin 7:02 pm on June 30, 2011 Permalink

I’d guess Matt is mostly right because he tends to be right about these things. Also I don’t know who Andrew WK is. However #1 sounds like half-assed beatnik poetry with a touch of the prison yard., which is Manson all the way.

So I’m saying Manson is: 1,2,4,7

Reading what the two of them have written, my brain still breaks.

I have to agree with Kevin’s assessment of number one. But “vast timeless lasting forever”? C’mon guys, a statement that redundant also must be Manson poetry. And number four mentions the Family, so that’s Manson as well. So Manson = 1, 4, 5… and possibly 2? 3 and 7 sound like the same person, so with that many Manson answers it must be W.K.

I thought I would have a few more contestants, but Heather got it exactly right.
      Manson was 1,4,5

I hedged on the 2nd question, so I wasn’t exactly right.
